This North Potomac, MD project involved a partial kitchen refresh aimed at enhancing both function and flow. The island was rebuilt to improve usability, while a new drink bar with a filtered water faucet was designed to open up to the family room, further optimizing the space for both convenience and entertaining. The client wanted a space that exuded calmness and brightness, reminiscent of their favorite summer days spent at the beach. Every design element was chosen with this in mind. The quartz countertops evoke the look of gentle waves and sandy shores, while the custom plaster finish on the range hood adds a textural, coastal vibe.
The 30-inch cement pendant lights above the expansive 15-foot island create balance, while alabaster sconces flanking the window provide a unique lighting layer. Touches of brass add warmth and elevate the overall elegance of the kitchen. The zellige tile backsplash brings a handmade feel, complemented by the plaster range hood, and leather-woven stools round out the design with comfort and style.
As soon as you step into this kitchen, you're met with a relaxed, breezy atmosphere, evoking total summer day vibes.
